Looking Back on 2022 + Ahead to 2023

2022 was an incredible year of growth and achievement for Clear Construction. To celebrate all that we’ve accomplished, we put together an overview of this past year’s wins and our vision for 2023.

Year in Review

This year, as the company rapidly grew, we continued to build out and perfect our organizational processes and systems. Our infrastructure was a major focus of our support departments (Operations, HR, Accounting, Marketing), taking to heart the motto - “we can’t build a mansion [of a company] on a foundation meant for a yurt!”

We saw a saturated construction market with subcontractor waitlists, manufacturing delays, and long material lead times. As we encountered these challenges, our team worked diligently to pivot plans and keep our clients up-to-date.

For us, the wins far outweigh any challenges that 2022 presented. Here are our favorite successes and milestones from the past year:

  • Clear hired 16 new team members, making us a 47-person company! That’s a nearly 50% growth from last year.

  • Our Santa Barbara offices were completely built out – we now have a great space to collaborate and connect with clients.

  • Clear Cabinetry became its own operating business and got a new, larger shop space for its state-of-the-art CNC machine.

  • We worked on projects from LA to Santa Barbara of all scopes and sizes.

  • Clear Construction created a finish carpentry department with a team of 7 and a rough carpentry framing team of 4.

  • Our design department expanded to a team of 5, offering architectural design, planning, and permitting.

  • Clear Interiors LLC was created, and we’re looking to launch in 2023!

  • We added new equipment to the Clear fleet, including a dump trailer, CNC machine, and two new trucks.

Looking Ahead to 2023

This past year was full of growth and accomplishments, including Clear Construction turning five on December 4th. Now that we’ve celebrated our 2022 journey, we can look ahead to 2023 and get excited about all that is to come in our sixth year of business, including…

  • Continued focus on expanding the company – our vision is to become a 100 person-team in 3 years.

  • We have projects booked through the end of 2023. We’re looking forward to starting new work and building upon our long-term projects.

  • Clear Cabinetry is booked through June with a variety of creative casework from kitchens and baths to custom furniture and media displays.

  • A cabinet shop expansion from 8000 sf to 12000 sf.

  • Hiring a design project manager to join the team ; a vision for more design-build projects.

  • New, larger office and operational space in Ventura.
