Barker Pass
The most dynamic aspect of the Barker Pass Project was the pool. While pool construction is always rewarding, this build came with additional challenges. The condition of the existing soil was poor, requiring complex foundation and retaining work with heightened attention to detail. In addition, access to the job site was difficult because the residence sits atop a very steep lot in Montecito. Large trucks could not make it up the driveway, so the team had to pump the concrete up from the road in order to construct the pool.
Another satisfying element of the project was the installation of the outdoor kitchen. The design team utilized valuable exterior square footage to create an exceptionally functional kitchen, equipped with built-in cabinets with sleek, stainless steel fronts, appliances, a sink, a T.V., a heater, a BBQ, and plenty of storage. This backyard is now an exceptional space to entertain friends and family.
